If I had to give my own definition of freelance administration, I would say that it is a rather atypical legal form, since it is neither a self-employed status nor an employee status in the true sense of the term.
It was during a professional networking that I discovered this new form of work. Very quickly, I became interested in this solution. At that very moment, I was thinking about launching a freelance consulting activity.
I had set myself an objective that I would not want to deviate from: to start while benefiting from support and security. This solution then appeared as an obvious one, since it offers the status of employee while allowing to remain totally autonomous.
To give you a more concrete idea of how it works, this concept is based on a tripartite contractual relationship. The employee is under a contract of employment with the freelance administration company. Then, he/she performs a service on behalf of a client company.
Becoming self-employed is a bit like an emotional journey, but one thing is sure, to try it is to adopt it!
Freelance administration has been progressively established in Europe for about thirty years. I am sharing with you some data that represent the progression of freelance administration in France.
The latter was recognized by the Labor Code in 2008, with the law of modernization of the labor market. In 2015, an ordinance was issued, providing a regulatory framework for freelance administration.
In July 2017, a national collective agreement on freelance administration was signed, which had a positive impact on the working conditions of freelance candidates.

The employee gets in touch with client companies in order to negotiate assignments. They decide together on the specifications of the service: definition of the price, duration, objectives. The consultant carries out the mission entrusted to him by his client company.
The company that calls upon the portage employee pays the service directly to the portage company.
The company redistributes the turnover to the employee in the form of a pay slip, after deduction of social security and employee contributions.

It must be recognized and I am the first to defend this idea: creating a company is not an easy exercise, and I would even say that it is not improvised.
I have observed around me many people who start their own business without any preparation or support. They are not aware of one essential fact: being your own boss is not the same as being 100% free to develop your business.

Indeed, what a satisfaction to be sure that I contribute for my pension, that I benefit from unemployment insurance, or even from a company mutual insurance!
Another fundamental social protection offered by this system is that the ported employee can continue to receive back-to-work allowances, paid by Pôle emploi during his work period under contract with the agency.
✈️ Freedom and autonomy
Not only did I not have to create a company, but I am totally in control of my activity. I look for my own assignments and clients with whom to create partnerships. At the same time, I also sometimes deal with assignments proposed by the freelance administration company.
Of course, I set my own rates for my services and I am absolutely free to organize my schedule and my tasks. In terms of monthly time volume, I have to complete a maximum of 173 hours per month.
