👌Customer Experience Consultant: a career booster
The sacrosanct model of the classic salaried worker is crumbling a little more each year. As a privileged observer from my freelance company, I realize that this status is no longer a dream, and even less so for the younger generations.
Thanks to my status as a customer experience consultant, I am and remain the captain of the ship, I have full control over my activity. I am the sole decision-maker, which means that I personally decide on the development or the direction I want to give to my business.
And this is where the difference with being a salaried employee lies! The fact that I no longer have this subordination link has several impacts: I am highly motivated by the performance objectives of my company, so I am necessarily working solely for myself.
My business is my baby.
Any consultant who has been on board will tell you the same thing. It's a reality, I feel much more involved and challenged by what I'm doing, because I'm in charge of the ship. Running your own business brings you a new relationship to work. You are constantly pushing yourself and, above all, you are the conductor of the orchestra.
This new function makes you gain professional maturity much faster than in the salaried position where initiatives are not always possible due to the often vertical management.
As a customer experience consultant, I often notice recurring arguments among newcomers. Most of them had the feeling that they were stagnating in their functions, that they lacked prospects for internal development.
Sometimes, they no longer shared the vision or even the strategic direction. It is therefore partly for this set of reasons that an employee is interested in or wants to switch to a more current and more promising form of employment such as freelance administration.
I have been a freelance consultant for a year and a half, and I can attest that this status has revolutionized my professional life, because it offers a new career approach and a very different relationship to work.
Very often when one decides to embark on an adventure as a freelancer, a state of mind accompanies it. When I decided to leave the world of traditional employment to become a freelance customer experience consultant, my mindset at the time went beyond simply creating service offerings. To engage in this type of approach is to have a certain mindset.
To become independent and professionally autonomous is to be able to dare, to be in constant motion, to be in a dynamic of creation and action.
My life has totally changed since I became a consultant.
The implementation of short-time work gives access to a specific allowance, which represents 70% of the gross hourly wage. More concretely, it is limited to 4.5 x the hourly rate of the SMIC, i.e. approximately 84% of net salary.4,5 x taux horaire du SMIC, soit environ 84 % du salaire net.
I went from a "passive" mode to an active, not to say proactive, approach. From that moment on, my posture was no longer the same as before. From one day to the next, I found myself fully committed and responsible for the success of my project.
My professional life became a challenge, with all the adrenaline that goes with it. Sometimes I made decisions that were not necessarily the right ones, but I don't regret anything, on the contrary.
I have learned from my failures and this has brought me professional maturity more quickly.
It is no longer a secret that training to accelerate one's career is a formidable lever. Faced with economic transformations, training is no longer a choice, it is an obligation for anyone wishing to boost their career path.
For me, it has clearly become a way of life, so I'm telling you about it with full knowledge of the facts and I'm giving it to you as a commandment: never rest on your laurels and seize every opportunity to learn new things.
In a majority of freelance administration companies, training courses dedicated to the launch of a business are offered, such as :
● how to fix its tariffs,
● how to sell yourself well and optimize your profitability
● how to write commercial proposals efficiently,
● how to prospect effectively.
Other modules exist to improve your skills as your business develops, including how to diversify your business.
Personally, between two missions, I felt the need to follow a training to reinforce my skills in business communication, that's what I set up very simply and freely.
Another advantage for training is that the personal training account is accessible to employees in freelance administration, as long as the consultant has at least 4 months of full-time seniority.
Sometimes, some freelance administration companies set up training courses as part of a forward-looking management of jobs and skills (GPEC). In this context, you can use your rights to carry out professional training or to acquire new qualifications.
In a world where programmed obsolescence also affects skills, all these training schemes have an interest: to perpetuate your activity.
That's not all, I have experienced it myself, since I regularly access training, I have developed soft skills useful in today's society, such as agility, daring, innovation.
Having a career as a consultant and being constantly trained, it awakens curiosity and opens up the world around us.
Being a consultant means changing the way we look at the work we do, but also the involvement we put into it. To sum up, I would say that I am like a pollinating bee. I am constantly accumulating various experiences and I am nourished by them every day. Today, a career is defined by all its phases of evolution, renewal and learning. In this respect, freelance administration particularly invites you to evolve faster, because you develop transversal, hybrid and multidisciplinary skills.
